I just picked up a Blackstar Artisan 15 for ?450.

It's handwired, switchable from 5-15 watts and is the best amp I've ever had.

Never buy new :D

Have you thought about the Vox AC4tv combo or AC4TVH / V112TV Head & Cab. I have the seperates and love the tone. It also offers 3 output settings, 4w, 1w, and 1/4w. I haven't heard a bad word about theses amps. The chap at Rat Amps rates it highly too:

Wow! Just listened to some clips of the Minimat 2 on YT. There's a guy with a Tokai P90 that sounds absolutely incredible, nice speaker comparison at 2:50 too!

that sounded badass

i have a vague recollection of seeing that video before, though, i'm guessing that's the older version of the minimat?

Does anyone know what kind of speaker outputs (ohmage) & how many the Minimats have? Can't find it on the website.

How about the Hayden Petite 5, has anyone owned or used one of these?
Pete.

Played a few Haydens inc the mofo but never the petite, I thought they were pretty *****!

why is that John?

Just nothing special sounding, there are those 'classic' sounds that a lot of people look for in an amp, whether it's a Deluxe Reverb, a Marshall Plexi or a Mesa rectifier, and I could get none of them out of the mofo I tried.

What are you looking for? I see you sold the Cornell, which is a lovely sounding amp - don't know why but I think of you as a Princeton reverb type chap ;)
