For sale is a beautiful 1981 Greco Super Real EGF-850.
Still has the "EGF 850 GRECO GUITAR" sticker on the back of the headstock.
"1 1364" ink stamp serial number.
It has been upgraded with Greco/Maxon Dry-Z pickups with zebra bobbins, "Z" stamped, with serial number "201112" (November 12th 1980).
NOTE: I do not have the original PU-2 pickups, which these EGF 850s come with stock.
Dark consistent rich colored fretboard, either Brazilian or Indian rosewood (some claim early EGF-850s had Brazilian rosewood, but I cannot confirm this)
Nitro laquer finish, two piece veneer maple flametop, 2 piece middle seam mahogany back, fret edge binding, dark cherry red back and neck.
Minor dings around the body, no veneer or binding issues.
All soldering is original, pickups professionally replaced keeping clean orginal factory soldering.

Please don't be posting the eBay listing I also have for this, as this forum is not the place for that, this forum is for a Classified add for this guitar for those wishing to buy if off eBay and save themselves some $.

I think Cliff was trying to do you a favour. Beautuful looking EGF by the way :)

Maybe, but this board is not for eBay adds, so I would appreciate just discussing this classified add....and yes it is a really great guitar.
Greco knew what they were doing in those days !

Look...... This has been going on for years..... a link is a way to help those identify if you are real or not. You have a price difference for those of us here at the forum and that is GREAT!.... This is a great looking guitar... the more advertisting/exposure the better chances you will sell your guitar... Best of Luck... Cliff :D

I've seen it both ways..... someone puts up a guitar for sale here to see if there is any interest.... often bumping the post several times and many times it doesn't sell.

Then when it goes on eBay as it should, I've seen the seller then comment that the guitar is now on ebay with the link here in the classifieds.... I don't have a problem with that.

Conversely, people have put things up on ebay without mentioning it here and have been chided with " hey man, why didn't you give us a heads up first?" here on the forum.

Either way, the object to sell the guitar and as Cliff mentioned, offering a buddy deal to forum members if sold here instead of ebay is very nice and very thoughtful. That being said, there's no problem with plugging your ebay listing here in the classifieds. Dealer ads are a different story.

Another thing to consider is everytime someone posts a reply to your classified , it gets bumped to the top. That's a good thing. Now someone buy this great guitar.... Back to the beach I go...... Cliff
