I recently got a new Greco strat and am putting up these Tokai strats for sale. I also have a Tokai ST-80 but that will stick around for the time being.
ST-60: this guitar has led a charmed life
- Previously had been modified for humbuckers and locking tremolo before I bought it. Was restored to original with some wood added to the tremolo area.
- Refret done in Beijing, China last year. New frets are taller and wider than the old vintage ones
- PIO cap installed.
- Natural fretboard wear.
- Original routing was done by a caveman with a dull bone
- Original ?E? alnico pickups
- 2-pc body with very thin finish
ST-50 with replacement neck.
- I got this last year on Yahoo Japan for $200 CDN.
- Neck is nitro finished, medium jumbo frets, fairly fat like a 60s LP: 21 mm at 1st fret, 24 mm at 11th fret
- Body has been routed and shielded for a humbucker. Looks like a shop job, very clean
- Original ?U? alnico pickups.
- Nice natural relicing on the 2-pc body with some cracks in the poly (looks more like thin lacquer, but I'll go with the "poly" finish)
