Looks like they are MIJ handmade as well as the regular handmade series. Pretty nice option I'd say. |

Like the SG... not that there's anything wrong with the others, just the SG is the one I don't already have
If they are MIJ those prices are pretty good too, surely? I mean that's not much more than an edwards. |

Pretty sure by Lacquer 'top' they mean nitro topcoat over poly basecoat |

Yes "Top Lacquer" means a lacquer top coat only, the base coat and any colour coats will be poly.
The price is what tells you everything - I have never seen a new all nitro/lacquer finished Japanese guitar for less than about 200k. _________________ Totally biased towards Japanese made guitars. |

True...even momose's say top lacquer on thier models. I'd prefer all nitro if I can get it but it's not a deal breaker for me. As long as the finish is thin and the wood is resonant it doesn't matter.
These classics seem very nice but I still think I like the Dukes better. I'm not concerned with getting a gibson headstock and an oil finish would be better than both poly or nitro in my opinion.
still though...when those classics start showing up used they are going to be some of the best deals in MIJ for sure. |

Unless you live in Japan or have a good friend living there, it might be tough getting one. Based on what I have seen, many of the new Bacchus guitars look very desirable.
BTW - would anyone currently living in Japan like to be my friend? |

Yes, I've been checking Ebay sellers and so far none of these new Classic series have yet appeared with the usual sellers...
If I knew what I wanted I might drop Hisashi a line and see if he could procure me one... _________________ Johny642000

I thought I'd show one of these Bacchus classics up close. I just got this yesterday as an impulse buy after seeing the top and playing the guitar. Amazing piece of wood for 128k yen. Pickups are also very vintage like in the neck and with some snarl in the bridge. It comes with CTS pots and switches with PIO caps.
It has a one piece body and a 58-style neck.
Sure, it is only a lacquer top-coat but the quality of these is amazing.
If Mitch is reading this, you can see what kind of stuff Deviser can make for you. |

That's a beauty Harold!
What strikes me (again) is how much the maho back on these current models look different from late 70s/early 80s MIJs, don't you think too? |
