Has Orville, or OBG ever made replicas of the upper-end Gibson (345 or 355) semi-hollows? I've never seen one...

Those jazz box types bear no resemblance to a 335 - they are not thin lines and no solid block in the middle. 8)

Personally, I haven't seen a 345 or 355 from any of the Japanese builders in a couple of years looking at Yahoo, except for a Greco 345 which did not have wiring that worked the same as a 345.

I think they might be quite rare...

Here is a 335 but not a 355. See the 335's quite often on Yahoo actually but not the 355's...I have seen a few 355's however so they might be a rare breed. Greco's are more frequent for sure

Thanks fellows! I don't believe Orville made any 345/355 replicas, but it never hurts to ask. I've still got a strong desire for a 335 and will keep looking.

I just found an ObG ES-175 listed as near mint. I couldn't resist, she should be coming to her new home Friday.

It is a '92 despite the caption. Terada perhaps? I have no idea.

Very nice. Never played an OBG ES175..... never seen one for that matter. Had two Greco's..... sold the sunburst and kept the blonde.

Well, It has been almost 10 days since I purchased a guitar so I think I am under control for now. i came close with a couple of low-ball bids on Yahoo that got outbid. The Terada is in nice condition, I guess the jazz players pay a little more attention and play a lot more sober than the average Japanese Greco LP owner.

I strung it up with flatwound 12s and now I can pretend I am Kenny Burrell. It is pre-93 so it has those older gibson pickups that will need to be changed to something more PAF-ish. Nobody told me the bridges are not attached to the body though, I had a surprise when it fell off!

Yeah I ended up finding a killer 1991 US made Gretsch 6122S Country Classic on Yahoo for 70K!! LOVE that guitar and she is my main semi-hollow squeeze. Needs a refret soon but that was a deal and a 1/2...those are a rare model and worth well over $2K
