OK..yet another question. I have'nt found a way to identify the Orville LP's. One was offered to me, in greath mint condition made in 1988 with a 802xxx serial number. But owner does'nt know the actual model of the guitar.

A Few picts of her.

It does'nt say By Gibson on the headstock doh. by the LOOK of it, with a plain top and redish sides, it almost look like a R8 reissue, but seller does'nt realy know

I'm pretty sure the model designation of the guitar in those pics you posted would be: Orville LPS-75/CS. Like the one in the middle of this page?.

from the info i gotten, this one is from 88, and with a SN with only numbers it was made at fujijen.

Biut did'nt find anything about quality difference between a Orville and a Orville by Gibson.

I would like to stay under 1500$ if possible, and R9 would be my first choice.

I got this "G" ObG '89 Custom for about half of what you say you would like to spend. That included shipping and a Gibson case so deals can be found if you look long and hard enough. While it is not an R9, it doesn't suck.
