Greetings one and all!

I've been reading through these forums for quite a while now and finally decided to register. I've been seduced by Japanese replicas since a certain article appeared in British "Guitar" magazine in December 2006! A fellow called Mark Fletcher extolled the virtues of Japanese replicas and I fell right into his trap!! Before I could stop myself I'd bought a Yamaha "Lord Player" and succumbed to a dose of GAS that seems to be getting worse the more I buy!!

I've just managed to procure an EGF-850 from Japan and I'm not sure that even that will cure me! I have a definite predeliction for Grecos though, as I feel they are the most well constructed and accurate of all the replicas. So far I have 4 Super Real guitars and I love their sound, playability and build quality.

As soon as I can I'll post some pics....

They are

EGF-850 Super Real 1980 model
EG-500 Super Real "transition model" 1982
RS-90 "Super Real Project" 1988
SA-64-70 "Super Real Project" 1987

also I have

Fernandes RB-70 Rickenbacker 325 copy 198?
'62 Reissue MIJ Stratocaster 1991
Telecaster 1983 USA
Rickenbacker 1997 thinline
'57 Reissue Stratocaster MIM

Glad to be here amongst people who share this disease!

:D

Greco Prayer

Our Greco, who art in Japan
flametop be thy name
Thy nitro coat, thine sunburst fading
In sun as it is in summer
Give us this day our daily strumming
As we strum those guitars
at those who offend us
And lead us not into those Gibsons
And deliver us from plywood
For thine is the nitro, the fat neck and the Dry Z
For ever and ever.....

amen

welcome Dave; the TF is the place 2 B for MIJ info

some of the discussions here with Mark pointed me in the direction of the higher end stuff, which was bad for my wallet  but has offered me a broader context of experience into the world of MIJ

yes, it's all Mark's fault :p  ........................ and we thank him :D ...................

Nice start Dave but I think you need a few more 8) ............................
