Hey all,

I was wondering if the jazz bass you see below is legit or not. Logo has worn off and had been replaced by the previous owner. Bridge was replaced by a gotoh. Please comment:)

Hello there,
You'd have to take the bass apart for us to tell you if it's for real or not. The manufacturing codes are on the end of the neck and in the pickup cavity.

i'm not the owner yet, but im thinking about it:p Is it necessary to have both the nack and the pickup or is one of them enough?

The sellers was, in his own words, "to lazy to take the bass apart"... These are the pictures he did make:

Anyone...?

Apart from the obviously fake logo, the tuners are 'modern' Gotoh replicas, with the higher gear ratio - I've never seen those on a Jap Tokai before :-? .

The electronics look pretty authentic to me, though.

Personally, I would walk away from it and wait for a clearly 100% genuine Tokai, otherwise you might be in for a disappointing experience.

Sorry that I can't be more positive, but you did ask ...
