Enclose some pictures of my Breezy Sound bought new in 1982. Note the position of the text on the headstock and the maple neck with the black body. Both of which are unusual? Based on a 1959 Custom Tele I believe..anyone know anything about this model?

It's a strange bird for sure, nothing wrong with the headstock logo, all good for a maple (decal and string retainer positions).
The neck plate serial (7 digits) is dated 1981.
The mix of a TE70 type custom body and maple neck? sure looks nice! 8)

Hi,
With the single-ply binding on the pickguard I think that's a '59 model (3-ply would make it a '64 model). According to the Japan Vintage article on Breezys (pg22-23) they have TE-Hot pickups and a bone nut and were made with 2 piece bodies of either sen or alder. Stock colours were yellow sunburst, gold sunburst, wine red and black, poly finish with cell binding. The magazine article mentions both maple and rosewood necks on TE-70s--if you bought it new in 1982 it was made like that. It should have a U-shape neck. I think it also mentions a TE-70 '58 model, also with the binding, but it says that has a 3-saddle bridge instead of 6 saddles like yours.

It looks beautiful!

It's typical of Breezys - it's not really a copy of anything Fender made, it's sort of an amalgamation of 50s & 60s practises.

Headstock decal at an angle & round string tree - early 50s feature - pre '55 I think.
Maple neck - pre '59 feature.
Bound body (as on Custom Tele) - post '59 feature.
Single ply white scratchplate - 1955 to '59 feature.
6 part bridge - historically wrong, but an excellent Tele bridge.

This sort of thing is quite common on Breezys - they are not the most vintage-correct of all the Tele copies available. But you won't find a Fender quite like it!
