I just checked my BLC 140 and its 100164 and the BFT-58V futura/explorer serial is 101188

Hi, that is a nice and early serial number on your BLC140, when you consider it was the 164th set neck guitar stamped with a serial, that is early, between 1994 and 1998, just exactly when I hope i can get the answer.
The BFT-58V likely between 1998 and 1999, vintage series.

Wow, thanks for the info! So, BLS-120 WAS MADE IN 98'-99? Soft V headstock, I wondered why that was. My serial ends in 633

good to see more info on Bacchus

AFA your info is concerned, then where in the time line would this one (100357) fall in place?

It has the pointed open book V head stock top

Hi, yours looks very much BLS-59V, more Gibson open book headstock , timeline would suggest between 1994 and 1998, my guess would be maybe 1995/6 with that serial?
I have a contact in Deviser, that I am preparing some more questions about, in particular, a possible way of knowing which serial numbers for which years, maybe to much of an ask, but i will try

What's the deal with the variations in the shape of the open book headstock - I've seen a BLS with s/n 100449 and the little "V" bit in the middle is definitely less pronounced than MIJs, as is the Kingburst headstock.

Weird, because the serials are not that far apart.

yeh, I noticed the less defined V on the head stock of # 100449 too; it's currently looking for a new home ...............

Thats a nice looking axe but that finish looks an awful lot like poly to me. On my Nitro lacquered guitars you can see the wood in the finish {and it stinks} and it is no where near that shiny. That looks too thick to be nitro and has the gloss finish of poly...

This guitar is finished in lacquer and urethane, i have already mentioned that, what you see is the result. What made you believe the finish was in lacquer only?

Somewhere in one of your posts you said it was Nitro, just pointing out what i see.... Also "lacquer" is a term used on most different types of paint used on guitars, For instance "poly" is a lacquer as well.

Oh yes, you are correct (I wasn't trolling, I forgot) . I will do an acetone test on it, and let everyone know what the result is.

I received an email from Tokai Joe, who has helped me with the purchase of this guitar along with his brother, Tokai Joe also assisted in the translations from Deviser, and then communicated with Deviser to double check the information given. And asked me to post his message, to clarify more about the finish of my BLS-120 King Burst.

Quote
hello everyone, Tokai Joe here how r u since?
i am still unable to come back here cause of
ICQ# and "MIJ" but i will try later so laters.

this Bacchus BLS120 was bought by me and
my bro for Grecoburst a while ago and its a
genuine BLS120 heritage dark cherry sunburst
from 1998/1999. they only made 100 or so
this model so its kinda rare among Bacchus.

it has a lacquer coat on top of poly finishes.
and the 1998 Bacchus catalog officially says
so too. in the japanese guitar business we call
it lacquer not nitro. we just call it lacquer here
and its never called nitro. so its lacquer........
all great Bacchus infos by Grecoburst are true.
we, i and his ladies and him did our research
well and we even talked to Deviser for the infos.
its very correct guaranteed by me and so
please use it right.

ok TF guys. keep talkin and G'day!

"Tokai Joe" from yokohama, japan.

You bought Tokai Joe's brother? Blimey, good old Rinkya eh?

Say hello to Joe - tell him it's quiet here without him.
