Very nice touch!! Is it not just wood filler? even so it makes for a very tidy finish!

ok stripped apart again and examined under big lights and big magnifying glass!!

conclusion....

no conclusion, lol the pencil could really be anything, looks most like a signature...

... and its probably the best centre-seamed match I have ever seen .. I had to check for at least 5 mins in 4 places inside, to be absolutely sure it was not 1 piece...and I am just about convinced now...heh

I will mark her up as a DS-250 PRO..

No idea....Looks like little pieces of wood to me but the color is slightly different from the neck wood. Yeah it is a nice touch. I haven't seen it on any fender custom shops let alone anything lower.

Villager, I would say 250 is correct. The year makes sense and the 280's are listed as one piece bodies.

Seen this DS-200R at Ishibashi U-box earlier, but now they seem to have dropped the price to 79800 yen on this. If it was of a different color, i'd have bought it already.

Wow, that is a hella bargain for an awesome Strat! But yeah, probably my least favourite of the custom colours. It's been on the u_box for well over a year, so I'm not surprised they lowered the price in the end.

Someone should jump on this:

Looks like an Alder-body, 57 style DS-200 equivalent. Wonder what it will fetch in the end?

someone isn't doing their home work  ....................

Hi guys,

This is my first post - although I've been here before many times...

Here's some more pics of Villager's one, the day after I bought it (a SD-250 Pro, sealed lacquer, 2 piece selected ash body with alnico "beefed up"). I was in St Emilion then.

Clearly one of the best strats I've ever played...

Cool. I think I might move to rural France, seems to be a lot of cool guitars over there. Nice cheese too.

Someone really needs to add this DT-250Pro to their collection:

http://www.digimart.net/inst_detail.do?instrument_id=DS00725781

They ship internationally and accept Paypal payments. I wish I had the money, but I just can't stretch that far at the moment.

Congrats! I have the exact same model (as seen a few pages ago). It's truly a magnificent guitar. And they are nitro over bare wood unsealded...even better.

Thanks!

I was told the 280 was one piece, unsealed lacquer ; the 250, two pieces, sealed lacquer... So there's a slight difference between the both.

Is there a catalog link for that? Or someone who knows for sure? The 280pro is just the later model of the 250pro. They didn't exist at the same time from my understanding. I know the line down from those...the 200/185's were called "all lacquer".

Someone who works for ESP, has dozens of Navigators, vintage and custom order ESP, and is still consultant in Japan. If you're sure he's wrong... it could be. Even if, to me, it would be almost the first time... He informed me when I bought it... I'll try to ask him more next time.

Thanks for the info.

It could be true. But I'd still like to see a catalog to verify. The catalog linked earlier in the thread states the specs of the 280 pro. I am making an assumption that the 250 was basically the same (aside from the 1 piece thing) and the price increase due more to standard rises in costs.

Just an observation, don't put too much faith in the catalogues, most Japanese manufacturers never put all their models in the catalogues, then you have custom orders and shop "specials". I have a couple of MIJ guitars that appear in no catalogues. Use them as a guide, not as a rule and remember, anything is possible with Mij guitars... :D
