Hey

I've recently purchased a Greco Dan Armstrong plexi copy, in black. It's got one humbucker in the bridge position, and I'm tossing up whether to replace it with a p90. ofcourse a normal p90 wouldnt fit, so i've been looking at p90s that fit humbucker slots. like the Gibson p94, or the Phat Cat by SD or the Fat ******* by rio grande. Kent Armstrong makes them too i think.

Has anyone had any experience with these things?

thanks

I use a SD Phat Cat in the neck position (replacing a humbucker) of my Fender Tele Special. It is a very good PUP: a nice, fat and punchy P90. The Gibson P94 is a MUCH hotter P90, not true to the original sound. It has a much more rock feel than the Phat Cat, less of a single coil vibe. The other PUPs i have not dealt with. So from these two, the Phat Cat is more of a true P90 sound than the G-P94. If the former is what you are wanting to hear, then i think you would like it.
