You could send it to me, and I'll scan it and send it back - maybe...

Arrived safely, and I already scanned it with 300dpi (~1MB each page), so the description pages on the back with lots of tiny Japanese characters can be zoomed sufficiently to read them.

I now have downloaded, enlarged and printed out the Japanese page in question, and have begun to translate it. Please be patient, as I have to do this in my spare time. I will post a full translation here once completed.

Hi guys
For starters the 1979 pages on the Forum are wrong. The '79 catalog is the same as the 1978 catalog with the exception that there are new models added (SS and PB ) and a different cover.
1982 Vol 5 and Vol 6 are identical except for the cover and the print. Vol 5 (Joe Walsh) is glossy and Vol 6 (Rick Derringer) is paper.
1983 Vol 7 and 1984 Vol 8 are very similar, both called Tokai World, but the covers (Vol 7 - Chester and Lester * Vol 8 'The Band') are different and 1984 features the TALBO launch.
I pretty much have all the catalogs from 1978 to 1989, either in hard copy or Hi-res scan ( my gratitude to Reborn Old and Greco Burst for their help)
but still require 1979 Vol 2 and 1985 Vol 9 to complete.
I will buy catalogues or accept Hi-Res scans
regards
Peter Mac

I think you are talking about the Japanese catalogs, right?
There is a 1985 volume 11 in Japanese on Vintaxe. Does that mean there were 3 Japanese catalogs in 1985? Odd for such a bad year for Tokai.

Correct, as usual, Jacco.
The Japanese catalogues are the only ones that are consecutively numbered however by 1987 they were in English.
Again I did a typo - Vol 9 is from 1984, not '85 my apologies.

I have a bunch of catalogs that I would love to have translated. One I have in hand the others are shipping from Japan as we speak.
I have a Japanese guitarist friend who may be able to help.
I will work on scans when I get a chance and post to photobucket.
I have the 1981 Carved Top, 1980 Flat Top, 1982 Concept with Joe Walsh on the cover, 1984 The Tokai World, and a rare DiMarzio catalog from 1979-80.

No worries I am uploading the JP Tokai catalogue images by year -

...............
Vol 1-1978 ;.........Vol 2 - 1979 ;.........Vol 3 - 1980

--------------
Vol 4 - 1981 Arch + Flat .......;.......Vol 5 & Vol 6 - 1982

---------------
Vol 7 - 1983 .......;..........Vol 8 & Vol 9 - 1984

---------------
Vol 10 - 1984........;........Vol 11 - 1985........;........Vol 12 - 1986

---------------
Vol 13* - 1987........;........Vol 14* - 1988........;........Vol 15* - 1989
