well, you're at least the 4th owner in less than a year; how is she, worth keeping?

I've never seen such rarity change hands so much ...............

Rich..... Its like this.... do I keep the (2) 1980 EGF-1200's or this guitar.. I'm sure you would make the same decision....so it was sold along with 25 other guitars in December including an 1981 EGF-1200.... I am off to my new Post... Dec, 29, 2008.. as..General Manager of the Sugar Beach Resort on the island of Maui.... Look me up... let's have a drink......

Cliff, I thought the latest owner would possibly comment on his purchase

It would be interesting to know his opinion of such a rare bird

Congrats on the new job; hope it works out well for you..............

Rich,

It's a great guitar. Definitely tops the other MIJ's I've played (ObG reissue's, a few higher end Tokai's, a Greco EGF-1000). The Dry-Z's are absolutely amazing. The guitar is really beautiful; very natural looking flame; not over the top like most of the flame tops I see today. I removed the pickguard even. It's got about every feature I'd look for in a '59 replica, but the two-piece back. If it had a one piece back, it'd be the epitome of a Les Paul.

glad to hear you fancy it so

probably a good thing I didn't get it from the seller that sold it to Cliff, as the weight is a bit more than my preference.

I have Burnys with 3 piece backs that absolutely rule; if it sounds good then it doesn't need a 1 piece back

cheers .......

...a guitar doesn't need a solid top... or a long tenon... or nitro finish...

but all the above are nice ..heh..

don't need any of them if it sounds good to you..

I wish I had bought that guitar when I first saw it....
