Just seen the above on Ebay - could swear it's MIK or MIC but it's being sold as an MIJ and the bidding is already at ?360.00

Can anyone verify this as the purchaser could be buying not what was described....

John.

I really appreciate this - I was the winning bidder.
I guess there's no way it can actually be a LS85F given the trc.
In my ignorance I'd come to the conclusion that it must be an 'Iced Tea' [not knowing if there was/is such a Tokai finish] rather than the Lemondrop the seller described. Didn't think to question the veracity of the description, otherwise.
Doh!
Having seen this thread I've contacted the seller myself letting him know that I was obviously bidding on the "LS85F" described and not a ALS48.
I await his response, though the trc evidence kind of settles the matter.

?360 for a LS85F, you were dreaming!
The TRC, the nipple on the headstock, the darker finish on the top surround
A british market ALS48 VF, 100%

While I can't defend my simple ignorance, I was hardly 'dreaming'. I actually put in quite a higher maximum bid and the competitive bidding merely stopped at ?360.
Doubtlessly wiser individuals recognised the trc 3 screw giveaway, which I had failed to notice until seeing Johny642000's post here, and for whose altruism I am genuinely appreciative.

Many thanks, Johny642000. I have avoided a lot of grief, thanks to you, having not actually paid for the misrepresented item.

No problem, Dave - glad we caught it in time!

I emailed the seller myself but didn't receive a reply so I'm happy to hear that you saw this post before actually parting with the payment...

Altruism - not so much that, but I appreciate this forum as there are people from all over the world willing to share their knowledge and help others...it's a good place to hang out a couple of times a day especially when work is boring...

All the best,

John.

"Ask here before you buy!" should be the official motto of the Tokai forum.
