Tokai ALC-52 on eBay, Genuine?

Post by Gratifi3d » Fri Jan 02, 2009 4:47 pm

Hi :)

I have found this eBay offer for this Tokai Left Handed electric.. since i am a left hander finding an affordable leftie guitar in Singapore is so difficult...

So i've stumbled upon a shop which sells this guitar @ SGD 600

http://cgi.ebay.com.sg/ws/eBayISAPI.dll ... 0282955452

I'm wondering whether it is a genuine Tokai or just an immitation. If it's genuine i'm considering to buy it.

And the neck is bolt on as shown in the picture. But i've seen the original Tokai's without bolt ons.

Please help to clear my doubts before im ready to purchase that guitar, thank you!

Hi & welcome.

I'm no expert on the Love Rocks, but I thought a 3 hole truss rod cover means it's Korean or Chinese, not Japanese?

Thats no Japanese Tokai, save your money and get a proper one these are either alder or plywood bodies and bolt on neck .....nothing like a Les Paul.

Thanks a lot Mick! I won't get that guitar then. I might be getting an ESP or Schecter but it'll take a while before i could afford one :P

And thanks Mike for the truss rod info :)
