Howdy All, Just bought a Burny Double-Neck off fee-bay:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=230289123193&ssPageName=STRK:MEWN:IT&ih=013

and was wondering what period these were made and if there were variations in design. I read some had 3 piece bodies while others were one piece. I've also seen pictures of one with a different truss rod cover. I figured a Burny Double Neck will beat and Epiphone Double Neck any day so I took a chance. These seem to be super rare. Any information would be appreciated. I did notice this post: http://www.tokaiforum.com/viewtopic.php?p=66489&sid=69fafee8392e2f4b53ccdfb7baa93a3f

That one had a 3 piece body.

what do you mean by a-lot? like big?

I noticed that the 1980 and 81 cat had this guitar at 120,000 yen.

Just a lot of everything, two bridges, four pickups, 18(!) tuners all on one piece of wood
It's cool though! What does it weigh?

Don't know the weight but I imagine that it would be close to a regular Gibson Double Neck, since it's the same materials, etc. I have an epiphone DN already but I wanted something made out of real wood instead of the plywood that epiphone uses. :x

Were there also some recent Burny doublenecks, or are they all ca. 1980 vintage? The short 12 string headstock is interesting.

The burny you reference in the first thread is mine.I purchased it about a year ago from a guy in New Mexico for about the same price you paid.Shortly after it needed a pup selector switch which was nearly impossible to find. Finally got a hold of a gibson switch for 100.oo dollars  from japan. The switch is slightly diffirent and having trouble finding the correct wiring diagram. The guitar is well built and told it has VH1pups according to prior owner

I own a Burny doubleneck
sold my 1977 Gibson doubleneck
the Burny, plays, sounds, and looks better than the Gibson
Go figure
