Suprised not to see any mention of the Squier Classic Vibe series guitars on here. From what I am hearing these Made In China guitars are REALLY well made and feature tonerider pickups as standard. Seeing lots of people raving about them on just about every other forum.

Anyone got any opinions here?

I've got one..... as you said, for the money (less than $300), they feel, sound and play as well as any American standard strat. The only thing I'd change on it is the wimpy, thin trem block. The pickups are awesome:

That looks like a very nice Strat Marcus! is the neck 'vintage spec' skinny frets & 7 1/4 radius?

These are the best example videos I have found.

This one shows the Classic Vibe Telecaster.

and this one shows the sound differences between the 50's and 60's Strats. Alnico III v AlnicoV Tonerider pickups

I have to say, to me, the 50's has it, and sounds **** close to the John Mayer Strat!

I have one like Marcus' and can vouch for the quality. I got one on eBay for 220.00 including a HSC.

Personally, I like the 50's better because it is punchier as shown in the vids. Man, that Tele in the video sounds fantastic.

I'd advise anyone interested to go test drive these Classic Vibe guitars. They really are a big surprise.

Blimey that guy was good! Oh Well, that sealed my fate, and an Olympic White one is now ordered from the nice man Pat at DV247.

I got the Tele from them last week and it just blew me away.

Here's hoping the strat is just as good. I ama aware that replacing the trem block is a worthwhile mod.

Thanks.... yes.... skinny frets and 7.25 radius

Not really, the specs are 9.5 radius, medium jumbo frets,
but I love them :D , have a Sunburst Tele, a Strat 60, and a Duo Sonic, the pickups on ALL of them sound GREAT, and they are VERY well made guitars, at an incredible price.
Very happy with them, keep them coming......

What does the Duosonic bring to the table that the strta and tele dont?

A short scale neck, and a unique sound, sort of like a Tele and Strat blended together..........

Well I got my Strat through and, I think I got a Monday Guitar in terms of build quality. The nut is REALLY weird. It almost looks to have been set for a left hand neck i.e. WAY high at the High E side instead of vice-versa. and the saddle heights were all out of step with each other i.e. High E WAY low compared to the rest. Also, the frets are REALLY high, almost un-dressed, which I am convincing myself is resulting in notes going sharp when chorded/pressed.

Sound wise.....WOW!!!!! The pickups sound GORGEOUS. My initial feelings are that they are actually WAY more stratty sounding then the Lindy Fralins (in another strat) that cost more than this full guitar did. Then doing A B tests I realised that the Fralins are MUCH hotter and sound WAY better when dialled back a good bit ,which is what I was finding when recording. I can't decide what is better. The immediately nicer strat sound from the Classic Vibe, or the Fralins being able to get dialled back which then means you have room to boost if required. Hmmmmmmmmm.

I think I am going to reject the vibe on grounds of playability, and try and get another sent up. The tele is an utter peach in comparison setup wise.

This video gives a good indication of the sound of the Tonerider Surfaris pickups that these are fitted with.

Heard a few comments about them being slightly bright which I would tend to agree with so far.

Wonder what this is? Neck and Bridge pickuo together?

I think a Blender pot would do the same thing without the need for a switch.
