LP Reborn '79 - 2 piece mahogany body

Post by parand » Wed Sep 27, 2006 3:19 pm

I read that the early LPRs had a 1 piece mahogany back. I have a 9-serial number (1979) LS50, with 50 stamped on fretboard and in the cavity but with a 2 piece back and 3 piece maple top.

All joints look original, binding discoloration matches neck/body.

Is it possible that an early LS50 could have had a 2 piece back?

Thanks! :-?

I have a 79 Les Paul Reborn, LS-60 stamped on the last fret, it has a two piece back.
