2 piece neck ? LS-80 in 1978

Post by Daizo » Fri Mar 11, 2005 12:10 pm

A recent case in Japanese auction showed an interesting note, 2 piece neck (center matching)" with "80" stamp below 22nd fret. I have not heard of such 2 piece construction for LS-80 in '78. Did it exist ?? I post a pic, but it does not show it well.

Here is the picture showing it much more clearly. It may have been repaired, but I am not sure. Yellow masking is to avoid identification in the Yahoo auction.

Guess its possible. My old LS80 was a one piece neck from 1980.

hi there

my 1979 Tokai LesPaul Reborn also has such a seam on the back of the Headstock. Even if mine is a LS50.
