Hi all, this is my first post here. I'm a proud longtime owner of an '81 Silver Star, and have decided to replace the saddles on it.

Does anyone know the size I should be ordering?

Also, any recommendations would be appreciated. I've been looking into Highwood saddles, as the primary reason for the replacement is I don't like how much the screws dig into my hand when palm muting, but I'm also hoping for a tone improvement if possible.

Thanks everyone!

Hi,
It would depend on the sound you are chasing.
Choice of saddles is long - solid steel, brass, stamped steel, graphite, roller to name a few.
As all Tokai bridges were made by Gotoh, maybe looking into what they offer as saddle replacement could save unneccessary problems.
Sizing should be for a 50mm string spacing.

good luck
