Hi all,
First time here - but thanks for all the tips and wisdom on this board.
I bought a Tokai Breezysound at a music store garage sale in the mid 80s - first guitar, didn't know anything about electrics.
It had been a rental - one of the staff had put a note on it saying, "this is a great guitar and a great price!"
It was $199 (Canadian!)
Many years later, none of the original parts are left in my possession except the body (be gentle...I was young!)
I'm just starting to restore/upgrade it now that I'm a much older and only slightly wiser guitar lover.
My question: can anyone date the guitar based on the serial? Headstock/logo no longer available for reference.

Trying again to post a photo of the neck plate, this time via an icloud link:

Fender copies have no dating information in the ser # they followed the fender system by model type. You will also find some more numbers and letters in the pickup cavities, these may help in narrowing it down.

From what I can find 4 digit replicates a 48<57 Fender maple neck.

Thanks so much for the help! Next time I have the guitar open I'll post any other clues from inside. In the meantime I think I have an early 80s Tokai.

Had the 80s Breezysound open to receive some gorgeous new Fralins...here are the numbers from the cavities - do these clues shine any more light on the date?

thanks in advance for any clues!

ps Headstock is not currently accessible (neck replaced many years ago, still looking for the original) so the serial number on the backplate and markings in the body are all I have to go on for now...
