Coil split/tap

Post by #44 » Wed Mar 07, 2018 1:06 pm

Hey guys, thinking about swapping my LS80 pickups for some gibson ones from the 90's. The gibsons are currecntly wired with a coil tap. Just curious if the old vintage tokai pickups have the 4 conductor wiring to do this?

Thanks!

I have 2 ls80s from 1981. Both have new PU in them. I have the old PU from both guitars. I just looked at both of them. They both say

Patent Applied For
- GOTO

They all have one ground and one lead each.

I don't believe they've ever had 4 conductor wire on the stock pickups.
