Hi folks

I want to ask you, if you know this seller (japanvintageguitars.com) and what your experience is with them?

Are the guitars in the shape as presented on the page? Is the customer service good? Are the prices reasonable?

It is pretty nerve wrecking to buy a guitar without trying it first, so it would be nice to have some thumbs up's before :)

Can you recommend other online sellers?

Thanks in advance :)

All the best, Esben

Hi Esben

Depends on where you live first.Esben sounds scandinavian to me and import taxes are a big part of your purchase if you order from Asia,US or Australia for example.I can recommend japanguitars.co.uk as Mark is a longtime forum member and resides in France what means no taxes if you are really located in Europe.Next point is he describes the realistic condition of every instrument and if you do not like it you have the option to change for another. If a damaged guitar will be delivered he takes the risk for it as long as you order a hardcase with it.Might be not the cheapest dealer on earth but very honest and the quality of his guitars is outstanding.

Hi Ibucus

Thank you for your reply. I am in Denmark, so you had it right with Scandinavia :) And yes, the import taxes are rather high. 33 % on top of the guitar and shipping cost. Thank you for recommending japanguitars.co.uk! I have stumbled upon this dealer before, and getting a recommendation means a lot in my process of making a decision :)

Hi Esben,

I bought a MIJ Tokai from Mark about 18 months ago. The guitar was exactly as described, it was well packed (with a hard case) and I was very happy with my purchase.

You may find cheaper guitars online, but Mark has built up a good reputation as a MIJ specialist seller and, in my opinion, it was worth paying a little bit more to have the peace of mind of dealing with him.

I hope this helps and good luck with whatever you decide to purchase.

Tony
