have one...a strat. They are made by a company called PGM in Japan. Very high end guitars and built the way Leo intended them to be compared to a lot of what comes out of F/USA today.
I bought mine off the net a few years ago and after getting it I contacted the company for info on it because it wasn`t in any of my VZ catalogs. From the serial number they told me it was a limited run of 30 guitars with the large headstock and of those 25 were maple fretboard and 5 were rosewood...mine is rosewood. It`s a beautiful guitar and far exceedes my ability but I don`t care, it only makes me wanna play it more.
Excellent guitars and well worth the money ...used, the new ones will cost as much as F/USA custom shops but having both F/USA team builts and the VZ...I`d choose my VZ every time. Right up there with the old Duncan line of high end strats and teles...the new 2006 Duncan catalog shows many changes in the line with far fewer choices and modifications...they no longer have the Fender headstocks...maybe he`s thinking of selling them abroad?

I bought this exact guitar over a year ago:

I also own a '57 reissue VS from the late eighties, and I always go for the VZ instead. It's a quality instrument, with that crushing SRV/Hendrix vibe all over it. You can feel the body resonating even when playing unplugged, and it just has that vintage mojo if that's what you like (I do).

Who cares if it doesn't have the F word on the headstock.
