I found this Tokai claiming it is an 80s goldstar? Any ideas? The pick ups have been changed. Thought if it was a springy I might get it to restore to original condition. Cool color too. Thanks everyone.

That is very odd.

The serial number is too high for a Tokai 5 digit Fender copy. They ended in early 1985 and didn't get anywhere near the 50000 mark.

The color may be a Placid Blue that has yellowed.

You definitely need pics under the hood and nek pocket/neck butt. Lots of oddities on that one.

Part of the oddity is the saddles say TOKAI. By Feb. 1982 when the serial numbers changed the saddles changed to FINAL PROSPEC. Not sure if that was a smooth transition, but raises questions.

It could be a late 1981 Springy, but the serial number would be all wrong, so something is not adding up.

I’ve asked for pictures under the pick guard ,the neck pocket and the end of the neck.

No back plate screw holes.
