I just bought this for around a G note, shipped from Japan.

Two questions:
1) do representation/details look correct?
2) will finding replacement pickguard be an issue?

I'm new to the forum and this will be my first Tokai, so I'm very excited. On the other hand, I haven't bought a guitar online before... so I'm quite nervous. I hope this wasn't a mistake! (I haven't received it yet.) What do you think?

Welcome to the forum and congrats!

It's so easy to distinguish between a 60 and an 80 or higher;
-Headstock angle
-Finish type
-Fret edge binding

60 = 14 degree headstock angle, 80 or higher = 18 degree.
This one clearly has a 14 degree angle.

The seller could have done a lacquer test with acetone to see if the finish is nitro or poly. Nitro = 80 or higher. He conveniently failed to do so.

Fret edge binding = 80 or higher. There is no feb but it has been refretted. Then again no traces of the old feb..

As always with these type of auctions the model number sticker is missing..

And last; I can see '60 CS' being written in the neck pup cavity. How much more proof of a 60 can there be?

This is a experienced seller. He knew what he was doing when writing the ad..
