    1984 greco js650...low end greco?

I've a 1984 JS-550 and even though they're the bottom end of the Mint Collections there's pretty much no difference between them and the higher end LPC's other than hardware like pups etc as far as I can see. I've a few other fujigen even the top of the range Orville 57B and they haven't cut...

    Greco frets

I've had a few older fujigen guitars and they were all just either pressed or hammered in , no glue and never installed sideways

Help with identifying my Burny guitar

No problem, Burny did a few weird ones in the late 80's, I've spent far too much time on Yahoo Japan buying guitars so seen a lot of their weird and wonderful guitars :) For the OP the model number, or/and serial, is usually stamped at the bottom of the neck or in the neck route with many...

Greco SG Special Mint Collection, LP Jr. and SG Jr.

Nice one, I love the simplicity of juniors and always fancied getting one of the Greco SG's.

    1978 EG-500

Playability is a bit subjective as so much depends on what weights and neck profile you'll like best. The Super Real era 1979-1982 is generally considered when Greco where at the top of their game. I think the main Japanese manufacturers have always had high standards when it comes to build...

    1978 EG-500

Not sure of the dates but think the 77 and 78 EG500's, there are a lot of catalogue scans on the net that should show the specs. In 79 they started the Super Real/Super Powers and the lower end 500's were solid bodies as far as I can tell. They were doing the 380's and 480 bolt ons in that...

    1978 EG-500

Looks like a plywood top from the photo, if you look in the pup cavities it should be clearer for to you. I've a cheap Japanese Yamaha SG copy with a plywood top and it's one of my favourites, sounds good to my ear even though it's plywood topped too.

Is this Burny dc Junior legit?

Can't remember off hand, I'd have to look at the catalogues, they're all online. The TV models came in a dark brown mahogany and TV yellow finish so doubt it's a refin. They did bolt on neck versions and think the tuner shots I posted were on the bolt ons.

    1978 EG-500

Fujigen were the main Greco factory during the the period that was made, January 1978. They didn't chamber guitars but the cheaper ones were hollow bodies with a plywood top. Just look in the cavities and it'll be obvious if it's a plywood topped one.

Is this Burny dc Junior legit?

The early DC juniors did have TV model on them, can't see your pics as you've used photobucket and the facebook group is closed Here's a TV model logo , if it looks like this it should be genuine and unlikely a refin, 3 hole trc in those days too. $1200 seems high to me though, you'd get one...

[NGD] I tried dating my new Burny LPC. Anyhing I missed?

Yep the number specifies the date of manufacture and the lightening bolt inlay dates it to 02 Dec 1994. Pots, caps, trc and bridge have all been changed out.

Greco Rickenbacker 360 Blue Surburst Special MIJ

Me too, seemed to be a custom colour in 84, they also did a similar red burst custom in 84 too

Anybody know about the M'Seeken "Let's Play Music"

I had a custom m'seeker think I dated it to 93 or 89 from the pots and was made at the Tokai factory going from the routing patterns. Think quality wise I'd put it a step below all the burny's I'd had but it only cost me about 12,000 yen a few years ago so was worth the price I paid. They made...

WTB: Greco Super Real or Mint Collection SG

Your best bet is probably trying to buy direct from Japan either thru the stores or Yahoo Japan as they do seem rare even in Japan. I'd imagine anyone who's gone thru the hassle of getting one already shipped over isn't going to give it up easily. They do pop up on YJ from time to time last...

    Now even rarer

    (SOLD) Bacchus LP Special p90

Respraying a guitar rarely increases the value of a guitar regradless of who's sprayed it. Sadly as soon as they're no longer stock finish the prce takes a hit.
