Yeah - I have the original Tokai knobs on another Strat (loved the way they aged) so I'll keep a lookout for some more. Are they the ones described as minty green? Some final pics. I know that black pickup looks a bit cak but man it sounds good. I'm going to look out for a white one and stick...

I could but I quite look the fact that they're the original ones. Incidentally, the knobs aren't. And I'm not very happy with the new ones I bought from eBay. I could really do with an old set that would fit in better with the rest of the guitar.

Right - using the scratchplate that Iain from this forum sold me I've tidied up my ST50(?). I don't have access to the original bridge pickup at the moment (it's in my parents' loft) so I've fitted one I had - a Seymour Duncan JB Junior. Shame it's black rather than white. Still, I think you'll...

Thanks Iain I'll fit it when it arrives and post some pics. Cheers Will

Hi Iain I've tried PMing you several times but they don't seem to go through. Can you give me your email address? Cheers Will

Yeah - but do they do a single ply white one with a non bevelled edge? That's the one I need.

Thanks. I can't find that Stratosphere store on eBay, sadly. But I'll have a look at the Fender ones. However, I have a feeling the Tokai one is thicker to stop it warping, which the eight hole Fender ones were prone to.

Yes Marcus, it's the original. Eight hole fixing and about 3mm thick with a non-bevelled edge. I've found them that thick but with a bevelled edge and thinner without - but not the right combination!

The little toggle switch is a coil tap for the Dimarzio. I'll have a look at the body to see whether I can see any joins. In the meantime, I'm struggling to find a replacement scratchplate that's as thick as the Tokai original and has a non-bevelled edge.

Thanks. Now you mention it, I seem to remember grooves getting worn in the saddles, which probably accounts for the string breakage. By the way - do you know whether it's a ST50? Cheers Will

I never tried replacing the nut. Perhaps I will. My bridge isn't as bad as all that so I'll just clean it up and stick it back on. I always set my bridges to sit flat on the body anyway - I got fed up with strings breaking and the whole thing going into an alternative tuning even Captain...

Exactly. Yeah - the bridge on mine is pretty grotty (the saddles say Tokai on them, incidentally) and the Tuners (which also say Tokai) were always the guitar's weakest link. My band members used to joke that it went out of tune every time anyone walked past it. But I don't want it for gigging...

It's relevant to me, Marcus, yes - which is why I asked. And as the only part on it that isn't original is the Dimarzio bridge pickup I don't agree with you.

So does anyone know what it is? T 50?

    Early Springy Sound

I gigged it for nearly 10 years, then leant it to a mate (his band was Delilah, hence the sticker) so it's seen some action. I'm not going to repaint it but I do have a new scratchplate and I think I still have the original bridge pickup somewhere, although I was never that fond of the sound...

Cheers. One more go! Here's the neck plate And the headstock. Blimey - seems to be working so here goes with the rest. Apologies for the crap pics - left my camera at work. Thanks Felix!

I kinda knew that posting photos wouldn't be straightforward. I'll try again.

I'll try to get some pics posted. How do you tell which actual model it is though? I mean how do you tell the difference between and ST50, ST60 etc?
