    A weird gold top

Did you test top or back for nitro? I heard the top is an acrylic lacquer (wich also reacts to acetone)on the gold top but poly on the back and neck.

    1980 Tokai LS70 ??

Point being that your guitar is a 2000 ls70F Veneer flame top.

    1980 Tokai LS70 ??

In the photos you linked in the neck pickup cavity is a ls 70F stamp. Your guitar is an Ls 70F. 1980 there was only an Ls 70 gold top with p90 pickups.

    1981 TE120

Same as yours I guess..sen ash. Looks like its been refinished and a strat pup in the neck. Haven't got it yet. listing said there was no extra routing done except the pick guard was cut to fit the pick up. Have to wait and see.

    Tokai Breezysound TE-80 info please

Koiz has this Springy. 1978 plate St80 in the cavity, no date or colour code above the st 80, 60 on the board and a serial close to Udo's. Pic of the neck end and pocket would be good. If the guitar is all original then the transition stuff was still happening around 8003810...

    81' Tokai TE 60?

Fine grained ash can be hard to see a seam sometimes but easy to see any join around the outside so some back end shots would be better. sure looks 1 in those pics.

Reborn, If you can find a Dec neck from 1980 with the hex TRC then quite possibly Udo's is 1980. If you can find a 1979 without a model board stamp then yes it can Dec 1979. There are 78 examples of strats with no board stamps. Is it possible that a DEC stamped neck would have no board model...

    80-82 Springy ST80?

No definitely 1982 the 4 digit serial started. How does the string tree differ? 1978 springy. Yours.

    80-82 Springy ST80?

Yeah as far as I know they started using them pickups in 1982 on st 80s as well as st 100s. Could be an early Goldstar but without the original logo its impossible to tell. However the scratched off logo did seem to marry well with the replacement position wise.

    80-82 Springy ST80?

Hang on, thats my old st 80  There is a thread on it somewhere here and was ID as a 1982 st 80 with dimarzio's. As you would know ( if it hasnt sold again since i sold it months ago)I put a springy sound decal on it as the original was gone when I got it. Since then the neck code date thing...

    80-82 Springy ST80?

    Tokai Breezysound TE-80 info please

But Chris's had a DEC stamp and hex. I thought the hex disappeared sept? If there is no other example as late as Nov-Dec then Chris's must be 78-79 and if it is 78 and a proto then it could of been started around the change over from small neck plates and no fret board stamp to larger stamped...
