    FS: 1985 Tokai LS80

Do you know of an inexpensive service? Aus Post changed their size restrictions recently, so that's no longer a viable option.

    FA/FS: 80 Tokai Reborn Old LS-50, 06 Tokai LS-165VF SOLD

You're tempting me to ask you how much it'd cost to ship to Australia...

    FS: 1985 Tokai LS80

If I was in the UK, I would have bought this by now.

    Tokai LG118T (PRS style)?

I'm looking at a Tokai LG118T on eBay right now, and I can't seem to find much information about it online in English. Has anybody here ever played one? It looks like a PRS, and I'm sure it's probably a good guitar at the 118k yen price point, but I'd like to get some sort of feedback as to...

FS/FT: 2007 Tokai LC85/90/95 Les Paul Custom Black Beauty

Still available, so the price is now negotiable.

    WTB: MiJ Les Paul (Europe)

I have a Tokai LP Custom listed for $1050 (Australian Dollars), which would be well within your budget of 900 euros, even with shipping. It's not a "vintage" model, but it's basically a reissue of a 60s LP Custom... and you don't have to worry about fretwear or other issues with old guitars.

    MK2 pickup modification

I've seen some tutorials online explaining where to connect an extra wire if you want to convert a 2-conductor humbucker to a 3-conductor for a Jimmy Page-type configuration... has anybody tried that with the MK2?

WTB MIJ Les Paul (Tokai, Orville, Edwards, Greco etc) (UK)

Hmm, interesting... thanks for the advice. On that note, we should probably stop hijacking the OP's thread...

Hey man, I'm in Sydney too, and I just got my first Tokai yesterday morning... coincidence?

What are the great values in MIJ strats?

They generally say 85-87, but there might have been a bit of pre-production in '84.

WTB MIJ Les Paul (Tokai, Orville, Edwards, Greco etc) (UK)

Huh, so you're two steps ahead of me. But I don't have the money for one of those right now, unless you're looking for a trade...

WTB MIJ Les Paul (Tokai, Orville, Edwards, Greco etc) (UK)

I have GAS... but what I've figured out is that I want to take a Hamer-ish guitar and customize it with some WCR pickups and split them with some push-pull pots...

    Wear in finish (LC85)...

I'm pretty sure it's just a thin polyurethane finish. To the best of my knowledge, only the really expensive models have a nitro finish.

    Wear in finish (LC85)...

The LC85 doesn't have a nitro finish, does it?

FS/FT: 2007 Tokai LC85/90/95 Les Paul Custom Black Beauty

I've been having a lot of fun with this Tokai Les Paul Custom, and it definitely sounds better than most Gibsons I've played (which is why I first got it). Still, I sorta forced myself to get it because of how good it looks and sounds - when it comes down to it, there's just something I don't...

    Wear in finish (LC85)...

Cool, thanks for the advice. I used to have a used Chinese LP copy that had a perfect finish, but I think it's just because the previous owner never really played it... or maybe my eye wasn't as discerning at the time. Anyway, I guess I'll run down to the nearest auto parts store and pick up...

    Wear in finish (LC85)...

Sure, here are some pics of the guitar: I tried to take a picture of the scratches... they were really small, but here's the best I could do?

What are the great values in MIJ strats?

What country are you in? You can actually get a MIJ Fender E-series Strat in that price range on eBay (US). I picked up a great HSS Contemporary Strat (my favorite one of the line) for $380 + shipping. I've also seen some older Greco models shipping out of Japan, but those are actually more...
