is there generally a standard width nut on a greco les paul I saw an auction for an eg900 today and the seller states the nut is 44mm wide do all greco lp type guitars have a 44mm wide nut or does it vary are some 43mm ?

I have a ls80 and the bridge pickup is microphonic if I get the pickup wax potted will it change the sound of the pickup ?

Ive never tried a goldtop... will the finish on a goldtop have any effect on the sound compared to a flame maple or plain maple top or is it just cosmetic with no effect does anyone have both to compare ?
