    Edwards Jimmy Page Relic Tuners

i'm just curious and already had a set of grovers in a box. i do find the Gotoh tuners pretty good, but just a bit "crunchy" when dialing in the string pitch.

    Edwards Jimmy Page Relic Tuners

Anyone change out the tuners on their Edwards Page models for Grovers? I'm thinking about putting in some Rotomatics, but don't want the guitar to become neck heavy.

This guitar was sold to a fellow forum-ite and is on the way to WA who may post pics along with his other Grecos when it arrives.

Help ID this Greco sunburst Les Paul

Thanks for chiming in! After more research, I'm thinking the same thing, it's an EG59-xx. Nothing written in my pu cavity unfortunately.

Help ID this Greco sunburst Les Paul

I'm thinking about selling this guitar, but am not sure exactly what it is. It seems to be a mint collection EGF model..not a 1200 though. No fret edge binding...the pickups were switched out to Gibson Burstbuckers, so I can't ID from the originals. Possibly an 850 or 1000? Thanks for any...

My new Edwards Jimmy Page Relic w picture

Hi Marcus - I know you are quite familiar with these guitars. Thanks I'll gently work with them a bit a see what happens. UPDATE: That worked..they are tight but using a fork to pry while rocking back and forth eased them right off.

My new Edwards Jimmy Page Relic w picture

Hi Jonas, Thanks for the excellent response! I'll look into the Faber bridge right away. Regarding the knobs, did your guitar have the super circuit? If so, just wondering how you pulled the old ones off? The pot shafts seem too fragile to take much tugging and pulling.

My new Edwards Jimmy Page Relic w picture

Got a new Edwards Page relic today. This model has the super switching circuit. The previous owner had a luthier do a headstock conversion to read Gibson. I have a bunch of Gibson historic parts here that I usually upgrade my MIJs with and was wondering if anybody else has had much luck doing...

Edwards Jimmy Page relic vs. Greco for collector value

The Edwards came in today. It's weird how light it is - 7.4 lbs. Here are a couple of pics next to my Greco. The super circuit pots have these thin little shafts. I had wanted to pull the knobs and put on the correct ones, gold, not amber, but the knobs aren't sliding off. The pots seem...

Edwards Jimmy Page relic vs. Greco for collector value

Thanks for the input. I should have the Page by Friday and will post a pic or two. Also, if I decide to sell the Greco, I'll put it up here first. I will complete the Page with all the nice accessories such as AL tailpiece, new bridge, correct knobs and pickup rings and switch tip as I...

Edwards Jimmy Page relic vs. Greco for collector value

I just bought a beautiful Edwards JP Relic. I currently have an '89 mint collection EGF Greco honeyburst as well. I think it's either an EGF850 or 1000. I was curious to know what the experts think about long term investment value. In 10-20 years will the Greco be worth more, or were the JP...

Question about Greco...tiny gap between top and pickup ring.

This pic is of my other Greco LP. Notice how clean and "finished" that area is compared to the above pic.

    My new Greco SE600

Very Nice! I'm gonna have to get one of those Greco strats one day.

Question about Greco...tiny gap between top and pickup ring.

No gunky finish...it's fine under the rings. there is a little weirdness with the junction of the fingerboard and guitar top that doesn't show too much in that picture. Here's another photo that you can see the fingerboard/top junction in. There's a little break in the flame pattern running...

Question about Greco...tiny gap between top and pickup ring.

Thanks Marcus! I thought there would have been more touch up evidence. The Greco rings actually fit about the same with about the same little hole/gap. I just switched 'em out yesterday. I ain't too worried cause it's a great playing and sounding guitar, but if I ever wanted to sell it, I...

Question about Greco...tiny gap between top and pickup ring.

Thanks for the info guys. Actually the ring is curved slightly to follow the top. At least moreso than the original greco rings were. It follows the top line perfectly on the bridge side of the ring. i was mainly concerned that the guitar had some neck work, and the finish job was quite up...

Question about Greco...tiny gap between top and pickup ring.

I just recently got this Greco LP. Great axe but I noticed a little flaw on the top just under the neck PU ring. There's a very small gap between the guitar top and PU ring where the top carve dips back down just a bit to meet the fingerboard. A little annoying but otherwise this guitar...

    Pots in Grecos

I've modded this one out with Burstbuckers, Tonepros lightweight tailpiece and locking studs, RS aged knobs, Tonepros/Kluson aged tuners, RS switchtip and pickup rings, and a Switchcraft toggle and jack. Still want to get a more precise pickguard. Great project 'burst...weighs about 8.8...
