    Re-Wiring Your Tokais

But u are almost half way there. Pete Honore or Danish Pete did a relicing on his goldtop which was less difficult and u have to be less brave and it came out good for the effort, he just did not get the cool green colour. U can check it out on youtube, andertonstv…..https://youtu.be/YjISNgU1KSU.

Oh I see, my mistake. I was talking about the Strats and your last post seems like u are talking about Les Pauls, arent u? Sorry to be so unspecific in my first questions.

    Re-Wiring Your Tokais

Did u leave the brass plate in and use it or did u just do it like nowadays? because the wiring is different with the brass plate. The cap I would change because the Kloppmann pickups are coming with a fitting one and as I said my pots dont have the right kOhms. Do u maybe have a pic of the...

Hi Guys I am in a similar place as you ve been. I wanna change the Bill Lawrence pups( there are also a set of Seymour Duncans from the 80ies, but 1 pup needs to be rewound) which came in the guitar for some singlecoils from Kloppmann, just not sure if I wanna go with a 50 or a mixed set. There...

    Tokai Goldstar Model? Pickups? Year?

Nope. At least second owner. He only had what I got. Look in the 80ies these guitars where the **** in middle europe, especially in switzerland. It was the holy grail, almost as an original 50 or 60 ies fender, fender had a bad reputation and at first japanese guitars where not liked and later...

    Tokai Goldstar Model? Pickups? Year?

I dont know who was the first owner. This guitar was sold in a guitar store in the mid late 80ies to a guy who kept it since then u just sold it now because of various reasons but the main reason is his wife😂 So even when it was stolen, it was stolen back in the 80ies. And where? In Japan, the...

    Tokai Goldstar Model? Pickups? Year?

Good question. I think I read that there are a few from this period without. Or maybe the first owner scratched it or maybe there was a name engraved on, like with the fender JVs, where the first owner could get a name engraved. Or maybe someone used it to sell another guitar, ……. Honestly I...

    Tokai Goldstar Model? Pickups? Year?

Hi Sigmania No it doesnt sound wierd. I am well aware of the concept of frequency resonance. I rekon I just used the wrong word. I think or it feels to me my other strat where I took of the paint of the necks back, vibrates more easily , longer and its louder by itself. I think wood can vibrate...

    Tokai Goldstar Model? Pickups? Year?

@Sigmania thank u. Brought the Lady to my luthier and its defenitely poly paint but very thin one and he was very impressed of the sound she produces, dry and with volume up. But also he thinks a refret would be very necessary, I knew some were low and the first free were played all the way...

    Tokai Goldstar Model? Pickups? Year?

Hahaha u are all right, the case is wrong but looks awesome. I think its a Springysound case for ST 100 and 120 or to buy seperately. I would change the case for a Springysound Strat or Tele 80 and above ;) So we think it is a ST 50? Thank u guys

    Tokai Goldstar Model? Pickups? Year?

Thank you Sigmania. I am still at work. As soon as I am home, around 17:00 MET, I will post more pictures. Yes, its a blank neckplate. So if the Pick ups not original and the rest of the electronics are from a lower end model, maybe i just keep them, but put some new higher class electronics...

Hi ATO yes the pods where wrong, they belong to the now installed bill lawrence ref pick ups. sorry for that. the ones you said are supposed to be SDs are the one which the owner before changed out for the BL Refs, when he bought the guitar second hand in the eighties. 2 have 1R and 1 has 5R on...
