Looks much better with the tail piece, original just doesn't look right, sort of cross between a Tele and an LP? Was it some sort of prototype, or was that an actual production guitar, forgive my ignorance!

Steve Hillage has got his sorted, not quite The Salmon Song, but think it proves you can intonate a strat.

1. Ritchie's First Strat: A Strat he got second hand from Eric Clapton's roadie. It had a Telecaster neck. Date (?). Ritchie quickly decided that the guitar was unplayable due to intonation problems. Scalloped (?)

Copied from 'STRAT TALK' A list of Ritchie Blackmores' guitars.

 Well Ritchie Blackmore probably had his own guitar tech. to do it for him.
If you don't get your intonation right, your guitar will be out of tune at the dusty end of the fret board. :o

That is interesting, always hard to get the low E correct, normally have to tune it a bit low to be able to get a decent sounding G chord!
So do you lower the pickups right down, set intonation, then slowly raise the pickups until it starts to effect the note?

Good effort Hodge, you can hear the slight differences between the pickups/fretboards. I thought the LP blue sounded more articulate, both great sounding axes though. :D

Bargain, when you consider I recently sold a SEVEN piece body 1977 Fender strat. for $1326 that was refinished, and refretted, on e-bay uk.
Best part of the strat. was the great sounding pickups, wonder what's in this one? :D

Well with that serial number it's obviously chinese, looks the part, but anyone can cut a bit of wood now to look like any guitar, spray, and add cheap electrics, that's why it's $200. It will not play/sound like a firebird, but it will look like a firebird. I don't know your age or budget, but if y...
