I'll tell you what, I never thought caps could make such a difference until I heard Bumblebees. I have them in a LS100Q and they're the bee's knees! . .22uF should be fine unless you like no highs whatsoever. There are other really nice caps available, but to me it would be trial and error. W...

Well Diamond you just got me curious so I measured mine. My '08 LS100Q is neck-7.5 and bridge 11.23... but my '08 LS230 Koa top is neck 7.5 and bridge 8.31. This may explain why it's brighter than the LS100Q. However they are not original, they came from a 2007 SG-155. I have a '94 ObG GT with Class...

The Egnater Rebel is very cool. It lets you blend between 6V6's and EL84's, and variable from 1 to 20 watts. The 20 watts can get very loud but if you need more they also make the Renegade that lets you blend between two 6L6's and two EL34's!!! I have a 4 channel Tourmaster 4100 head, but seeing the...

Re: Pickup Clarity

Hey guys, I own a LS125f and its a fantastic guitar however I'm finding that I'm not quite getting enough clarity out of the pickups on more distorted tones.. usually chords will sound messy and you cant really hear all the notes.. is this normal for these style of pickups? and if so what type of p...

Considering one could get a "Fakai" for under $300 US and they are decent guitars, and not plywood... I wouldn't expect much bro. If you like the way it plays and sounds I would suggest keeping it for a backup.

Thanks for the reply Mick, but I tend to disagree about them being inferior. I bought one of the Dillion made Tokai PRS copies and while it's a well made guitar, the back is not any kind of Mahogany I have seen before. At best it may be alder, it is heavy so def not basswood. The neck binding is als...

Exact 1959 Neck-Specs dont exist really, those Original 59-Burst-Necks had / have a huge variety, that nearly every neck is litterally a 59-Spec Neck :D While this may be true, most folks associate the 59 neck somewhere between the 58 and 60, which is also true. So if we assume a 59 is a medium ide...

Hi Mike, in the earlier catalogues i have all the Korean models {LP} were either plywood or Alder, the Korean SG's were Nato, no mention of Agathis at all... Mick Speaking of Korean, know what the Fakai's LP's and PRS's (Dillion) are made from? If we're going to dismiss these as inferior, it would ...
