That's why I'd put a lot of value on a guitar with the proper ink stamps and markings. It's easy to know what you've got and maybe worth paying a little more.

If you're looking for a 120, it's best to just assume it's a veneer. There are a very few solid tops and on a lot of them it's almost impossible to tell for sure. It doesn't make a big difference to me, the veneers can look very good and very much like a vintage Gibson. If you want to take a step up...

It's just not a very good cherryburst, though there are some nice CS finishes out there. And the flame and tuners are kind of unkind to the overall look :(

I don't think it sold. I also don't think I've ever seen an LS-120 for under $2000. It's not a very attractive guitar, unfortunately.

Narrow neckplate without serial number came first - very limited production. These are the first Springy Sounds made.

Stamped serial came after that with some changes to specs such as pickups.

It's a common fantasy among new owners :)

Yes they do have rosewood boards but seem to be harder to find. There are more maple ones about, I think.

The rosewood board on Tokais can be quite thin, it's no slab, that's for sure.

So it that a good year for that guitar? Unfortunately, no. The "vintage" Tokai period ends around 1983 in my opinion. You figure that a golden period 1980 or 81 LS-50 Love Rock is in the $800 - 1100 range, I'd knock off a few hundred for the later model. There is the change in headstock shape, pick...

PEACE .. From the island of Maui... Cliff You got it bro. The LS-100 auction lives on but he pulled the natural Flying V. I would guess that unless the price gets crazy quick on the LS that it will be gone soon too. The black V he has listed is most unusual. He says it's 1980 SN 013872. We know tha...

I have some gold knobs, but not reflectors. Did they ever make reflectors?
