I would have to agree, as I've played some excellent Fenders (they have definitely made some great guitars).

Yeah man, for all the US talk about free markets and trade they sure like to control some things as much as they can... There aren't many other products where another company is not allowed to come along and say "I can make a better one of those" or "I can do it more efficiently than you" and have a...

Get the SG196, totally worth the extra money. Upgraded hardware and electronics: aluminum tailpiece, brass saddles better pots and toggle switch, upgraded tuners Also the wood is sorted for weight and grain, guitar is lighter and more resonant. Lacquer finish etc. I agree - the SG196 has stuff that...

can you answer my question ? Sorry I didn't realise it was genuine question. But, I wouldn't know what a great song is - I like what I like, and think those songs are great. If great means sold a lot of copies then no I've written none, but there's been a lot of shite that's sold truckloads! ...

Yeah I shouldn't have said that, it's meaningless. Why would anyone care who likes what band or whatever.

Unfortunately that diagram is in mm, and many fret sizes are quoted in inches - hard to easily compare. Isn't it best to go slightly larger when you do a re-fret anyway? Here's one opinion on fret stuff: http://www.lutherie.net/fret.chart.html The Jescar EVO type wire sounds like a good option over ...

Well it's a relief to hear that your new 335 actually works as a guitar. It would not have surprised me if it turned out that the thing couldn't be intonated due to incorrect bridge placement or something. Even if it had been useless, it's not that much to pay for some fan art to go on your wall! Gl...

Priced like an LS-80 :(

Maybe it could be an LS-80? From the pictures I can't definitively say there's a centre seam in the body, but there's no sign that there was fret edge nibs that were removed with a re-fret.
So I guess LS-60 is right.

Nice looking LS though.
