I have no idea about the guitar (I'm aware of the current "Vintage" brand, but like you said, I suspect yours is from before its time), but I appreciate the difficulties you have in trying to google "Vintage"- it always annoys me when a company I'm interested in has a very generic name like that bec...

I haven't tried swapping the magnets (or indeed even tried your specific pickups) but I don't see why alnico II wouldn't work if alnico V does. That being said, for the harder 80s tones (and everything else being equal) alnico V normally has a bit more of an aggressive edge and tighter response for ...

Yeah probably. I dunno if it helps or not, but I normally hold off emailing companies over a weekend so it doesn't sort of get buried under all the other weekend emails sent by other people  I might well be overthinking it, though, maybe it makes no difference.

^ Never tried one but (as far as I'm aware, anyway) it was a legit MIJ model OK. Probably just don't pay too much... I could be wrong, but I don't think they were as popular as the more accurate strat copies, there has been more than one occasion when a shop in the UK was blowing them out (new) for ...

I just checked the Fender site, youre right the American standards are 9.5", the deluxes are compund 9.5 - 14" Yeah :) (a) I don't think either, but most of the times I asked about comparisons of neck thickness of different guitars online, people would go "they have different radius, so you can't c...

(a) I think ESP Vintage Plus is a 9.5" radius. (b) Anyway, by neck thickness I mostly mean the thickest part of it (the center) - the point against which a thumb rests when holding neck in a classical position. In other words, the slimmer the center is, the easier it is to grip barre chords, I assu...

The USA standard Fenders normally have 1 11/16" (43mm) nuts, combined with a flatter (9.5") radius, while I think most or all of those ones you listed have the more vintage, narrower 1 5/8" (~41-42mm) nut and most have a smaller, more vintage radius too. Some people notice, and some don't. I do.
