hi john, yes, that's what we know. however, she is an LS80 from 1979 and she has got a 2-piece back. fairly difficult for me to change that. ls100s were only introduced in 1980 imho. i had 2 of them, both single piece. but both already labeled 'reborn' only. frankly: that's the oldest tokai LS i eve...

hi, just curious about the double-ring tuners: I play a 900 LS80 and the original tuners (had to replace 2 by now) have the same lousy, cheap apperaance as on the pics. like Tokai couldn't manage extrusion.

the lady is top notch, but the tuners aren't. any idea why?

WTS 1984 LS200 quilted top

yep, just a teaser for the moment. I have to get back to my striped chair and take some proper pics.

in the meantime: just look for LS200 and you'll find a war that turned cold some 4 years ago.

watch this space: one of the most beautiful guitars (ever) will be here soon.

WTS 2007 Tokai LS230 5A top, collectors grade, unplayed

she clearly is a newer one. the mahogany-back is from brazil. the fretboard is from indian ebony. of course MIJ. http://gallery.me.com/rgrafend#100149&bgcolor=black&view=grid - the pups are Mark-2 (Tokai), close to the 64-66 - the neck is slim, like a 61 - nitro finish - open book - medium/long teno...

Sigmas made by Tokai for Martin

Hi, I am not a specialist on acoustics. But: I own a 72 Sigma MIJ and an 80 Anniversay Sigma MIJ. Both are labeled Sigma on the headstock and have an imprint inside "Sigma Made for Martin". To my understanding both were built by Tokai. I also had some Cats-Eyes passing through my studio, which were ...

WTS 2000 LS320 Cherryburst, unplayed, mint

We can argue about the colour (ochay still calls it clown-burst), but: this is a 3010g LS320 that's never been played. Of course she comes with OHSC and all paperwork. Open book, I privately imported her from Japan, which is legal. I'll supply all the papers including customs and VAT paid when she e...

Just about 1000 pics of Tokais

most of them were built before 1985, that's why I post the link. Some of them I own, some of them I sold.

9/10. I played her. so there is a bit of buckle-rush on the back. but: I double checked that she has nitro-finish. If you proove me wrong I'll pay for the return ship and I'lll have her picked up by UPS. of course that's uncommon for an ATE-52. but I had a TE150 with poly someime ago. guess you know...
