Tokai PAFS in my Burns Marquee

Well the work is finished and while i'm still keen to know what guitars other forum members have put their spare Tokai pups into, the sound i'm getting from my Marquee + mrk II Pafs are outragous. Here are the combinations: 1. Bridge paf pickup only (slightly brighter than yr average Les Paul tone b...

Breezysound neck wanted

Either Maple or Rosewood as I rather imagine i'm not gonna get too many offers - Rosewood prefered tho - it's a Jimmy Page a like.

UK dealers

Despite my earlier reply smaller Uk shops tend to be ok on the whole - prices are always higher than other countries but we always have that problem - one place I,ve never bought from is Andy's Guitars in London - love the shop, hate the prices.

Acoustics

I'm confused by all of this - I will add that the Tokai Acoustics I tried recently in Andy's guitar shop, Denmark street London were very poorly finished and were no where near worthy of the price they were selling for - I actually informed them of Tokai continuing to make acoustic guitars as I was ...

UK dealers

I havn't got a good thing to say about UK guitar dealers - a couple of true tales: I bought a 'new' epiphone acoustic from a shop in Leicester a few years back - guitar seemed ok - when I took it back to sell it a couple of years later it was pointed out to me that the nut had been modified so it co...

tHE WORK HAS BEGAN

Well after much consideration and debate the I've fitted my Tokai bridge pickup to - my Burns Marquee - I love the action/neck and resonance of this guitar but the pickups have never quite match the quality of the rest of the guitar - the guitar nearly as thick and heavy as a Les Paul - it's made fr...

Sorry my friend I'm using old technology - no scanner and no digi camera - there's nothing I can see that's causing the problem - pickup was soldered cleanly and in exactly the same place as prior to taking it out - it's like a static build up but too persistant and too audible - there's no extra no...

My Goldstars not well!!!

I've just resoldered my neck pickup back into position - everythings as it was prior to taking it out and now I have a static click whenever I touch the strings, pickup poles, trem and input. I take my fingers off the strings, click! return to the string click! Can anyone help? I'm at a loss -

TOKAI PUPS

By the way my Tokais have stickers on the base - on the neck pick are the letters LL-A with a second A underneath - the bridge pickup has LP-A with an F underneath - both pups are stamped Japan. They are mint as the guy I bought them from had them taken off the guitar in the shop and replaced becaus...

Odd Tokai on Ebay

At the moment there is a Red Jazzmaster shaped guitar with a Tokai neck - seller is claiming that it is a genuine Tokai - its a genuine Goldstar neck with the decal missing for sure, however the rest of the guitar is a heavily customised Diamond/Aria Jazzmaster copy i'm sure as I have one myself and...

TOKAI PKUPS OPTIONS

Another option I'm considering is finding a used Gordon Smith on Ebay - he makes superb guitars including Les Paul types and their resale prices are relatively low.

TOKAI/SQUIRE VARIANTS

I've recently bought a MIJ Squire made around 93-94 that is one of the best Strat type guitar i've ever owned - amazing amazing tone/playability - it's an odd varient - early fifties slim lightweight body - not plywood and according to Squiregate it should be. Plays like a dream. On the other one of...
