I have that same model in black. It has the same headstock logo but mine also has the fret edge binding and long tenon. I use to have a 1980 EG700 as well but sold it. I can say that my custom is very nice but the eg700 was just a little bit better. Hard to say why...it just felt better to me. It's ...

Nice guitar. Here's it's right-handed brother! my 1980 model. Also has the features you mention as well as the "dowel and tennon" neck joint. This guitar actually blows away my old 94'Gibson LP Classic. Just plays sounds and feels much better than the three gibsons i've owned over the years. C...

Perhaps thats a giveaway in distinguishing between mik and mij. Just a thought. The pic of my neck pu cavity is on the previous page and shows the japan type ro...

Thanks for all the info again, So, i figure my custom was made in japan. It has fret edge binding, as well as no shielding paint in the pu cavities. In fact the pickup cavities are cut different from the korean ones youve shown. Also, the nut is not squared off like those korean ones. I would like t...

Whatever it is it's really a nice guitar. Well made and pretty heavy like it should be. Heres a couple of pics. The person i bought i...
