Brownie

Hi guys: Thank you to everyone who responded. I guess I am now an official member of the Tokai club :) It sounds really good. Later today I hope to compare it to my 40th anniversary with custom shop 54 pickups, and my American Deluxe. With regards to how it plays, can't tell you. It was shipped with...

Can anyone help verify this is a ST-80 Springy 79-82 year?

This is the "brownie" I won on Ebay last week, it arrived today. The serial number looks odd, almost like it was scratched in?

Can anyone verify this is indeed a ST80-Springy from 79-82 timeframe?

Thanks in advance...

tuners and saddles

OK, so final prospect bridge and deluxe tuners could be found on a 1979 Springy, right? I'm a little nervous about my purchase, so I read about 200+ messages on this forum, and from what I can determine it is not common, but not impossible, to find that hardware on a 79, correct? Thanks again in adv...

I ended up getting this guitar

Oh no! Did I make a mistake? Looking at the forum pictures, the headstock is the pre-82 version. He says the serial number is 9423 which appears to be a 1979. He says the neck is the V shape and it has the 80 stamp. He says it feels like nitro. He hasn't shipped it yet so if you guys feel this is no...

Hi:
Thanks again!
Early meaning?? What range of years should I be looking for?
I guess I'll check it out anyway, doesn't hurt to have a frame of reference when the next one comes around...

Hi: Thanks for the quick reply! I was considering taking a ride there this afternoon to check it out if it wasn't a dud. So is the guitar basically the same as a late 70s early 80s Goldstar except for the headstock? In other words, it's still the same hight-quality guitar, it just had a shape change...
