There are a few things wrong with that guitar, logo is too thick, the truss rod cover is wrong, the serial number should have 7 digits, the machine heads don,t look right and the cavity route is the wrong shape in the corner where the wiring goes. It is quite possible it is a Canadian fake as it loo...

You should be able to see it if you look back from the front pick up cavity although there have been a few guys on here that swore that they had a solid top only to find out later that it is in fact a laminate, which shouldn't worry you too much, one of my favourite guitars has a lam top. Tokai are ...

I can't see any pictures in that link but it sounds to me like a LS-80, if it is i think you will also find that it has a very thin laminate top, All Tokai models back then had the "medium" tenon, Gibsons "short" tenon doesn't make it into the pickup cavity and has a small piece of wood covering it ...

Ned never said anything derogatory about Joe or anyone else for that matter and like it or not Joe has contributed more accurate info about MIJ guitars than anyone else on this forum. We all know you don't like him Rich but there are a hell of a lot of people here that do. Time to get over it.. And ...

I recall Ned saying that TJ/SG threatened the TF with a legal action, or something to that effect. I don't recall Ned saying anything positive about TG/SG, and I don't recall Ned saying TJ/SG would be welcomed back but rather the opposite .......... Thats rubbish Rich, where did you get that from.?...

Not too sure about that JV but the specs are similar or the same as the 80. Tokai was in financial trouble around this time and may have discounted stock they had to get sales, anything is possible as we all know... Mick Headstock angle, pickups, FEB (not definitive)? So you guys think it's an LS-8...

Maybe ESP/Edwards should have been more upfront about what was being made where, but they did own up to it. Bottom line is that they make really beautiful guitars. They were doing it all by the law, in Japan there has to be only a smallish percentage of the product to be done for it to be MIJ. I th...

There are quite a few reviews of these on Harmony central, look up Tokai and then look for Zakk Wylde Tokai, these are fakes as well..
