There's a 1985 over on The Gear Page:

You might have to register to see it. I have no affiliation with the seller.

My 2003 LS-320 has Cornell Caps. There's nothing in the cavity that would indicate these are not the original caps that were installed in the guitar. Here are some pics of the cavity: http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c270/currypowder1/Tokai/IMG_0890.jpg http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c270/curryp...

There is currently a guitar over at The Gear Page that I covet! But no trades means that I have to come up with the $$$. So, as long as that guitar is available, I'll drop the price on the Tokai to $800 shipped in the USA, a steal for a guitar of this quality.

Edit: the forum is messing up the link; try copying the whole thing.

Most likely of Irish origin; nothing to do with the food.
Thanks Alan. That makes more sense.

Now back to our regularly scheduled program. Anyone want a killer 335?!?!

Nope. No ties to India or the middle east related to my last name.

Joe,

I like curry rice, but my user name is not based on that. It's a derivative of my last name.

2003 Tokai ES-120 Blonde

2003 Tokai ES-120. This is a great copy of a 335. I have played, owned and own many Japanese guitars and this one ranks with the best of them. Lacquer finish over blonde flamed maple. The headstock shape is open book with a small dimple in the middle. I would call the neck a medium or medium thin, d...

that's a nice looking axe you may just tempt me away from my custom edition tharsh monster Tokais, how does it rate against "mainstream" explorer types? my lil bro has an epi explorer which is nice but I always say "ah but my Tokai is better" I've only had 2 other explorer type guitars, both high e...

I had been looking for this exact model for some time to be a sister to a Black Bound & Crowned 79 Hamer Sunburst. I've even put in a couple of requests to guitar sellers in Japan to no avail. I knew they existed as it's in the 79 Greco Catalog and there was one back in January that was snagged befo...

Greco EX-800HB

Hey all. I just picked up a rather beat up Greco Explorer off of ebay. It's only the second one I've seen in this configuration (black, body & neck binding, crown inlays). I've only seen it mentioned in the 79 catalog, but this one is an 82. Has original Double Trick pickups. As you can see from the...

Bump. The auction has a buy it now option and payment via paypal. This may only be available in the USA, but if you get into ebay through a live.com search, you should be eligible for a Microsoft Cash Back offer that will save you up to $90 on the bass. You may even be able to combine the cash back ...

That's exactly what I did to my OBG SG, using GFS Mean 90's as my HB sized pickups. Look towards the bottom of this thread: http://tokaiforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=9772&sid=1f40edfd6d292c9653f67b85ccf44ecd I gigged it on Friday plugged into a Marshall half stack, oh what tone. Pretty much anything I w...

FS: Mid 80's Jazz Sounds Bass

Mid-80's Tokai Jazz Sounds bass with original precision upper pickup. I'm not sure of the exact year of manufacture, but I'm guessing mid 80's since it doesn't have the earlier spaghetti logo, but does have the correctly shaped matching headstock. The neck is a thinner Jazz Bass size neck. The pickg...
