ls-180 is a, for now, extinct model, so is the ls-150
I don't get that!

People keep saying that but I have 2 LS150s on order! Are they incorrectly labelled in the UK or something!?! :?

There are models aimed at the Jap market for sure with different headstocks to the UK ones. UK ones have a little dimple in the centre of the headstock to slightly differentiate them from Gibson headstocks. I am guessing this is for legal reasons and probably also applies to US models? *snip as guit...

IMHO Tokai will give a far better guitar for the same money than Gibson. Take a price of a Gibbo and you can bet about 40% of that is because it has Gibson written on the headstock!! I have a Epi LP Std and a Tokai ALS56 here (Korean) and the Tokai is a far superior guitar. The body is a better qual...

Without being too blatent about it... check my sig! Hey Jamieh! Is this love rock http://www.hartnollguitars.co.uk/products.asp?id=266&category= Tokai's "see through dark red" finish? I thought Tokai stopped Ls-150 production and that they only produced 150s in violin finish and cherry burst...

Also, if it truly is a harmonic overtone, NOT a buzz or rattle I would suggest adjusting pickup height (as I already mentioned to you) I do remmeber someone telling me once that raising pickups too high can result in unwanted harmonics being picked up. If the strings are too close the the p/ups the...

Well i checked the nut it looks ok. There is a slim possibility it could be one of your tuning machines. I have known unwanted rattels to come in from them, but that is usually an actual rattle rather than a harmonic overtone. As far as the pickup covers co i ll try that. That is a good suggestion....

The "lower" end MIJ Tokais - LS65,70F, 85Q (using UK designation) are equal (if not better) that the "lowar" end Gibsons (LP standard). Whereas the 150 and above equate(or exceed) all of the higher end gibsons. The rule is very much look at what what you are paying for a Tokai, double it and whatev...

IMHO the Korean Tokais are definitely better value for money and better guitars than Epiphones.

The build quality is much better and the sound is smoother and has a more "quality" tone to it.

This is coming from someone who has played an Epi LP for 12 years!!

I take it you're referring to Coda, math. They've got (as far as I know) the only batch coming into the UK for the forseeable future. These things are RARE. As Hans mentioned, it all comes down to the solid maple top. The wood is hard to come by. Simple as. That is not entirely true. They have abou...

The LS150's are superb guitars. I presonally really don't rate the Marshall AVT amps. IMHO you will get much more out of your new LS150 with an all valve amp, or indeed a modelling amp... rather than the half and half affairs that the AVTs are. The LS150s are due in end of April to Tokai Uk and then...

I have heard that the factory that make the Strat type guitars for Tokai are currently making guitars for Fender and that is why there is a shortage in the Uk of those guitars at present

Dunno if that applies to all models, or just the Strat type stuff
