I am not sure that it was because of the specific material that is in question. It could quite possibly be a breach that involved taxes being avoided. Which do you think comes first in the land of beaurocracy and government? Save a rainforest on the other side of the world? or Save our coffers from ...

Do you like the High Order pickups Peter, i have 2 sets of them and just love them, i am getting more. Mick Yes,.... yes I do like them. A lot. The guy I bought the guitar from fitted the High Orders before I got it. The thing is, I have a set of Mick Brierleys' pickups on the shelf. He has since f...

Get the LS150, you'll kick yourself if you don't and by the time you resell your LS95 (at a loss, there are a few floating around!) you'll contemplate spending even more. I think the bottom line is the LS150 is better than a lot of high end guitar out there and you are getting something rather spec...

I have a '78 LS60 LP Reborn. I looked a couple of years ago and am sure that there was DiMarzio in there. More output an less top end sparkle and upper mids than Mk11's. The Highorders, which someone fitted in my '79 LS50 LP Reborn are PAF style, with similar output and have a little less top end sp...

It's definitely not 15 years old and it's certainly not Japanese, it'll either be Korean or Chinese. See this recent thread for explanations why: http://www.tokaiforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=14887 The lack of serial and 'Made In Japan' stamp are other reasons. I can see the truss rod cover has been ch...

Looks like overexposed pics of an ALS48 in Violin Finish to me.

I would say it is not an LS85F Lemon Drop in the pictures.

Welcome aboard. Nice guitar, and almost impossible to find these days. I have one in Metallic White. It certainly does not get the playing time it deserves. Set up with 10~46, and a great player. It is basically brand new with a couple of hours total, sitting down play time on it. Love the Japanese ...

Oze, I know the guy that is selling it. Dave is an honest guy. He bought it a couple of months ago from a guitar shop in Brizzy. He sent me some headstock pics, and I don't recall having seen one with a logo like it, which I mentioned. I've been wrong before, though. Anyway, (facetious mode on) the ...

Gibby doesn't bother to enforce their trademark in Japan because Gibsons sell quite well in Japan and it's not worth the cost of suing. The reason they "don't bother" is the fact that they do not hold design trademark in Japan. They have nothing to enforce. Design traemark on the various body and h...

It would be a current production ALS48, Cherry Sunburst.

Some S/N's start with a C, some are just numbers, even within the same batch of guitars.

The shop that you bought it from didn't know what model it was?
