Fender Japan 60's Telecaster

Anyone have any experience with these? I'm looking for a tele and I've found someone local selling a '85-86 60's reissue tele. He says he is the original owner and it is in 'perfect condition'. It has an AXXXXXX serial number. Anyone have opinions of them? I have the same guitar, but it's a strat, f...

I'd like it if the neck pickup rolled off better so I'm thinking about having a local luthier put in a 50's style wiring harness.

Other than that minor gripe it's been great so far, I love it.

I noticed you've sold a couple other guitars/parts. Have you made any cool additions recently?

Ya I'm not expecting a difference in tone when plugged in. After playing the guitar for a few months without the guard and now trying it with, there is a slight but noticeable difference in how the notes resonate/ring out acoustically though. I'm open to it being placebo but I had no preconceived no...

Does a pickguard affect resonance/tone

Hey all, I'm new here and all but seen the discussion about the forum not being as active lately and figured I'd help add to some discussion. I bought a vintage LS80 from here a few months ago (love it btw), and it is my first les paul style guitar. I originally had removed the pickguard, believing ...

So he says he hasn't had problems with metric/imperial knobs. Split shaft pots are just a friction fit so you just push them on there isn't any exact threading to match up. I guess my final question would be about the switch. I don't know what's involved in replacing the switch, I'd like to keep the...

Cool. Sounds like short shaft will be fine. I don't want weird knobs that stick out way off the body.

Metric pots would be crucial though I want to keep the original knobs for sure

Re: Rewiring/New pots

Hey guys, Looking for some knowledge on replacing the wiring/pots on old Love Rock's. Cheers Some things to consider (deep breath)... 1. The prices quoted seem pretty high. I appreciate that a pre-made harness takes a lot of hassle out of the equation but guitar electronics are extremely basic and ...

Yeah this stuff is confusing. Linear vs Audio taper. The bridge volume pot rolls of nicely. I can roll it down and it cleans up and there is a good range of different tones/volume pretty much through the whole sweep. The neck volume doesn't do the same. It comes in at about 2 and then from 2-10 ther...

Rewiring/New pots

Hey guys, Looking for some knowledge on replacing the wiring/pots on old Love Rock's. The neck volume pot doesn't really roll off nicely, so I figured I'd raplace the pots with new ones. I've found a local guy who sells pre-wired wiring harnesses. He can do the full thing, vintage style, braided cab...

Figured I'd give an update to this thread.

Just received a 1981 LS80 from Australia to Canada. No CITES papers and no issues.
