After a few more monthe I thought it really was time to change the strings.

So I've tried the top wrapping.

No noticeable (to me) change in tone or sustain (good, because they are great already) ...

My LC85 bought a couple of months or so back from Richtone weighs in at appx 10 lbs, but has a wonderful tone and sustain to match.

Was the last wine red in stock.

From a practical point of view I'm happier that a Tokai can play and sound as good as a Gibson for a lot less cash and I'll overlook a miniscule pimple. If the price is right and a guitar plays easily ...
