2 days ago I got my hands on my first LS80.
It is Old Sunburst in very good/near mint condition...frets have plenty of meat... just very few marks, last fret marked "80" ...nibs... etc ...a ... |

Had to update since I got sheptone tribute PAFs in there... and it became just superb!
I love the sound of the LS now (was falling behind when i installed Sheptone HSP90 in my 07 LC185)...

Thanks for the replies ! guys .... that were pretty much my estimations at the time of the buy.
The neck reads 3-13 clearly the body read either 3-13 OW or 3-18 OW or 8-18 OW in one of the photos . ... |

I think there is no stamp at all.... that was stated in the add as well...
So... it is definitely weird since all '79 silver stars had stamps...

I m waiting for a 79 silver star that was in a pretty decent price...
Many clues point to SS80 (brass nut - saddles ... SS80 in the cavity ...) but the pickups are not Dimarzio....I guess the body sh ... |

its 9005 the first 4 digits
To me, the whole scratchplate and pickup assembly are from a 1983 model
what do you mean by that! Someone rewired it lets say in 1983???

At this moment I don't have other pics. The serial is starting with 9.... And there is a 36 number on the fretboard. I think its safe to say its a 79 ss 36. Do you think the pickups are not stock? |
